Concrete Technology

In modern concrete and reinforced concrete construction, the requirements placed on concrete have steadily increased. Fields of application are becoming more diverse and specialized, and the demands on construction execution are continuously rising. Therefore, concrete mix designs tailored specifically to the respective construction project and application are required, with property profiles that must be individually optimized.

The field of work of the scientific staff in concrete technology is wide-ranging—from interparticle interactions and hydration effects as influencing factors on the flow behavior of concrete, through the design of high-performance concretes tailored to specific construction tasks, to the description and prediction of fresh concrete behavior at different scale levels.
