From 15 to 18 June 2026, the international fib Congress 2026 took place in Lisbon, Portugal. This year’s globally renowned congress was held under the motto “Structural Concrete 2050: Towards Carbon Neutrality, AI Design, and Robotic Construction”, focusing on key future challenges in civil engineering — ranging from sustainable and resource-efficient construction to AI-supported design processes and robotic construction technologies. The congress brought together researchers as well as experts from industry and engineering practice from around the world to present and discuss current developments in the field of structural concrete.
The Institute of Building Materials Science (IfB) was represented at the congress with several scientific contributions and had the opportunity to present current research findings to an international expert audience.
